About AQA
From 16th to 19th September 2009, AQA 2009 (Aqua Farming International 2009) Exhibition will be hosted in Vigo, Spain. Held at IFEVI, within the newly built hall that can house more than 3000 sq metres of new products and the latest innovations, AQA 2009 will provide the aquaculture industry with the recognition it has been waiting for. AQA 2009 will provide the platform for stakeholders to meet and discuss all aspects of the future of this vital food production business at the conferences and seminars that will run alongside. Galicia, the world's leading producer of farmed mussels and turbot, makes Vigo the perfect location for a fish farming event.
Why exhibit?
Co-location with the World Fishing Exhibition Vigo'09, the World's largest commercial fisheries exhibition, will mean that not only will AQA 2009 benefit from the WFE's extensive worldwide marketing programme but also from the same features, seminars and global attendees that make the WFE truly unique. At the last exhibition in 2003 almost 800 companies from 80 nations exhibited and over 70,000 world wide professionals attended generating an estimated 400 million Euros of business. An aquaculture area was introduced at the last event and this has now grown to become AQA 2009 at which the latest products, services and associations serving this fast growing sector, will be exhibited.
A must-attend event
AQA 2009 must form part of the promotion plan of any business already operating in or planning to be part of the future of this dynamic and rapidly expanding sector. No other event will bring in a quality attendance spanning from Ministerial level to manufacturers to local farmers!
Alongside AQA 2009, APROMAR (Association of Spanish Marine Fish Farmers) will hold their AGM and conference on the 17 September. In addition the first AQA Conference will be held on the 18 September and this is supported by the European Aquaculture Society and APROMAR. Entitled "Marine aquaculture: the 21st century opportunity and challenge for world fishing", the conference will pose and answer crucial questions such as: is marine aquaculture a viable alternative to wild capture fisheries? And, how can traditional fishing businesses successfully move into it?
Other events include the Fifth International Fisheries Ministers' Conference which more than 50 Fisheries Ministers are expected to attend. The First World Summit on Fisheries Sustainability will also run alongside and is being organised by the Imperial College, London with participation from FAO and the Spanish Ministry of Fisheries. In addition, ANFACO will hold the Fourth International Tuna Conference. These key events will bring together fishery ministers, research scientists and key representatives of international organisations from the industry.
